Getting here, specifically
PATH from Newark Penn is the natural winner here: one seat through Harrison, Journal Square and Exchange Place into the World Trade Center hub in roughly 25 minutes, at the flat $3.25 fare (raised from $3.00 in May 2026). It surfaces inside the Oculus, so most of Wall Street and Battery Park City is a walk, not a transfer. For Battery Park City specifically, the NY Waterway boat to the Brookfield Place / Battery Park City landing on Vesey Street is the prettiest option. By car, the Holland Tunnel is the move — its NY portal dumps you at Canal Street, minutes north, and you cross into the congestion zone on the way in.
FiDi / WTC sits below 60th Street, inside the Congestion Relief Zone, so every car-based crossing carries the Manhattan congestion charge on top of the tunnel toll — which tilts the math toward rail and, downtown, toward PATH. Open any crossing for its full timing, fare and step-by-step.
